• How to apply via UNISONO (version 2023)

• Please ensure that you select "Winter Semester 2026/2027" as the application semester

• Do not apply for Summer Semester 2025, as Electrical Engineering does not admit international students in Summer semester 

You will need the following 4 documents

1. A cover letter in no more than 2 pages with at least the following 2 sections

   • A brief statement on why you want to be admitted to our program and your future plans

   • 1-2 paragraph explaining your final year project or any other technical project you have undertaken

2. A full CV detailing your qualifications, name and addresses of two referees, prizes/awards/projects, any industrial experiences and 

   • Your results from bachelor studies

   • For applicants from India, please include your GATE score, if available.

3. Scanned copies of all certificates as a single file. This should contain

   • Certificate of all academic record/final transcripts/consolidated marks sheet 

     • If you are still in your final year of university degree, scanned copies of all transcripts till date.

   • A copy of transcipts of your school leaving certificate / Abitur / SSC/ HSC/ X/ XII board examination

     • For applicants from India, attach your class X and XII school results. Please also provide details of JEE results used for admission to your university

     • For applicants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, attach your HSC and SSC

     • For applicants from China: attach your Gaokao results.

     • For other countries, please submit details of any standardised test you have undertaken for admission to your university

   • If the original documents are not in English or German, an English or German translation must be provided

4. English proficiency test certificate, e.g. TOEFL test certificate (the university TOEFL code number is 8429) or IELTS test certificate

• The maximum size of attachments should be 5 MB

• Do not send any other certificate or references at this time

• Do not send any postal documents

• If you have difficulty in sending these documents, explain the same in your covering letter.

• We does not charge processing fees for handling applications for any of its degree programs.

Interview

If your documents are in order and if you meet our minimum requirements for admission, you will be invited for an online interview. These interviews are set on fixed dates in the first week of March, April and May.

• The interview questions will be from typical content taught in a bachelors program in electronics engineering in Germany.

• The committee may also explore any other aspects from your CV.

• Unfortunately, we are unable to change the date of the interview, unless there is a valid reason, like medical issues.

• The interview will be organised using Webex and you will need a webcam and microphone for the interview.

• You can also use your mobile phone for the process

• The interview committee will submit their recommendation to the selection committee. 

Results

In the months of May and June, the admissions committee will consider these applications together with the recommendations from the interview committee. Successfull candidates will be contacted by the university in due course of time.

• We are sorry, we are unable to provide any feedback on any candidate during this process.

• We are aware of Visa difficulties being faced by our potential applicants and will try our level best to make early decisions.

• If you have received an admission, but are unable to join due to visa delays, we may consider an entry in Summer semester starting from April or next year Winter semester. 
• However, you will have to send us a request for this after September, through email to edes@eti.uni-siegen.de. This is not automatically approved and we will need to see a valid reason for this.
