Description and Content

The lecture is held in english language.

The course is based on the fundaments obtained in "Power Electronics and Electrical Machines" and introduces the theory and practical aspects of the most important electrical actuators, mainly alectrical drives, used in industrial and mechatronics applications.

The students get acquainted with the function and especially with the dynamic behavior of these devices. The torque, speed and position control of electrical drives and the implementation of the control schemes with appropriate electronics is in the main focus of the course.

The student developed skills required for the basic design of positioning control loops in mechatrinic systems.

• Mechanics
• Fundamentals of electrical actuators
• Types of machines and characteristics
• Main issues in the design of electromechanical systems
• Current sensors
• Angular and length sensor
• Current control
• Speed control
• Position control
• Torque control in DC-Machines and AC-Machines
• Field orientation

Exercices and laboratory sessions are part of this course.

 

Following aids are all allowed for the exams

• handheld calculator (no mobile phone, no smartphone, no laptop)
• 2 DIN-A4 sheets handwritten crib sheets with arbitrary content
• writing materials
