• introduction to principles of industrial automation
• software of programmable logic controllers (LPC) (organisation of software in LPCs, programming languages and graphical rendition in the user software, sequential function chart, programming languages according to IEC 61131-3)
• interfaces between automation device and process (bit-, byte- and word-oriented I/O, counting pulse strings, analog I/O, electromagnetic compatibility of cabling)
• data processing (conditioning of input signals, time-discrete control)
• human interfaces (HMI)
